I’ve always been drawn to the visual elements found in gaming; especially those of gambling, board games and dartboards and that deep allure to layabout amusement imagery manifests itself in my work. I often use dartboardesque shapes and game-board icons to weave a visual story or idea. As such I try to conjure-up the viewers subconscious past, a foggy recalling of familiar imagery - spun in an unfamiliar way. My pieces been described as “American hieroglyphs,” which I think sums the imagery up quite well as I try to work a visual narrative into each piece - visual cues which represent a quickly digested idea or statement.
