Community Forms is a site-specific art installation designed as a mixed-use community space in Denver’s Globeville neighborhood. Part rainwater drainage system, part recreational space, this project invites “freeform creative interaction” while also functioning to divert and filter stormwater before entering the South Platte River. This project was completed during a Black Cube Nomadic Museum artist fellowship and as the first FEMA “Arts in Mitigation” public art project (which means this spot was funded by the Department of Homeland Security). Additional funding came from Black Cube and TAXI by Zeppelin where the project lives. Phantom Concrete killed it on recreating the clay model in concrete. Huge thanks to Black Cube for all the support, Phantom Concrete, TAXI, and FEMA.
