Faith XLVII

Faith XLVII

Liberty is a multidisciplinary artist who works intuitively.
Her artistic journey began in the streets of South Africa in 1997, under the moniker Faith47.
She initially gained international recognition for her evocative graffiti  but over the years, her work has expanded beyond public spaces, from iconic murals to sculpture, video installations, tapestries, and drawings.
Her artistic language is an exploration of where spirit, nature, activism and ritual intersect, often imbued with a sense of reverence for the mysteries that exist beyond the layers of perception.
In quest of the divine, she expresses a longing for a deeper connection to the wisdoms of the natural world.
There is too the active investigation and questioning of the human condition, its deviant histories and our own inherent existential search.
Liberty’s debut museum exhibition took place at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Nancy, France, in 2023.
Her work has also been exhibited at institutions such as the Calais Museum of Fine Arts,
the Bernard Magrez Foundation in Bordeaux, Mana Contemporary,
and the Brooklyn Museum in the USA, among others.
