Rafael Serrano

Working from his open air studio, Rafael Serrano has developed a new style and complex rendering technique combining paint, pencil, collage, pottery and more.  These important mixed media works are described by Serrano as neo-surrealism and have been inspired by a diverse set of imagery, poetry and fictional prose.  In fact, the new forms emerging from Serrano’s studio have been shaped by influences like Mann Ray, Max Ernst, Luis Bunuel, and the magical realism genre from Latin America.
